The County Court at Law of Coryell County has jurisdiction over
all causes of action and proceedings, civil and criminal, original and
appellate, as prescribed by statute in Section 25.003 and Section
25.0522, Texas Government Code. Generally, the Coryell County Court at
Law has jurisdiction over probate matters, family law which includes,
divorces, child custody determinations, child support, termination of
parental rights, adoptions, juveniles, protective orders, mental
commitments, misdemeanors, and civil suits in which the amount in
controversy is more than $500, but does not exceed $250,000, excluding
interest, statutory or punitive damages and penalties, and attorney’s
fees and costs, as alleged on the face of the petition.
